There is nothing as comforting as the sound of the helicopter overhead when you are hidden in thick timber with an injured patient that you have to reach by ambulance, 4-wheeler, and on foot. A huge thank you to all the members who helped in the joint effort between Challis Ambulance, Custer County Search and Rescue, and LF 87 to rescue an injured 4-wheeler patient. A special shout out to the incredible skills of the pilot Mike for, first of all, locating us, landing the bird safely in the smallest of clearings, and then taking off after dark. Always a pleasure to work with you guys!
