Fixed Wing Pilot - SIGN ON BONUS — All Company Float / Butte, MT / La Grande, OR / Moses Lake, WA

The Fixed Wing Pilot is responsible for safely operating Pilatus aircraft to facilitate the transport of critically ill and/or injured patients. The fixed wing pilot will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people, one-on-one and in large groups, sometimes in highly stressful situations. The fixed wing pilot will be required to work varied shifts and may be required to be available for on call shifts. All Pilots will be required to attend Flight Safety Training and will sign a Training and Tuition Agreement form.

Aircraft Mechanic II — Palouse, WA / Port Angeles, WA / Moses Lake, WA

JOB SUMMARY:

The Rotor Wing Mechanic provides onsite maintenance support for Life Flight Network (LFN) aircraft including management of base inventory, planning and scheduling aircraft maintenance, maintenance of the base library and LFN owned ground support equipment. This position is also responsible for aviation maintenance including assisting in planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services for LFN in compliance with LFN’s FAA Part 135 air carrier certificate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of two years of an Aviation Science trade or vocational school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years as Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic
  • Airframe and Powerplant Certification
  • Inspection Authorization Certification preferred
  • Responsible for having a thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Three years of FAR 135 turbine rotorcraft maintenance experience
  • Three years’ experience working for an EMS helicopter program preferred

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Flight Nurse is responsible for working with the Flight Paramedic in the delivery of advanced critical care to patients of the Life Flight Network. The Flight Nurse assumes and is ultimately responsible for all direct patient care in accordance to the guidelines and protocols of Life Flight Network.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of ICU/ED/Trauma experience within the last ten (10) years.
  • Previous flight experience preferred.
  • Flight experience can be substituted year for year for the ICU/ED/Trauma requirement.
  • Current licensure and/or certification as listed below:
    • RN license as appropriate to assigned location
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)

Operational Control Center Specialist — Boise, ID

The Operational Control Center Specialist (OCS) is responsible for coordinating and following to conclusion all aspects of Life Flight Network aviation transports in conjunction with Communication Specialists, established protocols and procedures and with safety as the highest priority. The OCS is responsible for succinctly and professionally communicating with flight crew, weather services, communications centers, hospitals, FBOs, and other stakeholders.

General Accountabilities and Essential Functions:

  • Ensure safe and efficient dispatch of aircraft
  • Continuous monitoring of weather for all regions Life Flight Network services
  • Provide weather updates to flights in progress
  • Completes preflight risk assessment and verifies compliance on all submitted risk assessments prior to aircraft departure
  • Coordinates services needed for flights in progress (fuel, hangar space, flight authorizations thru restricted areas)
  • Obtain and accurately relay necessary information to Life Flight Network aircraft.
  • Remain at console while any Life Flight Network aircraft has rotors or propellers spinning or any flight crew is on standby
  • Remain on duty until relief is briefed and ready to begin shift
  • As events occur, accurately, completely, uniformly, and legibly records all aspects of service requests within the electronic dispatch software
    and/or on the appropriate forms
  • Understand and utilize all appropriate features of radio, telephone equipment and other equipment updates as they are installed
  • Understand and utilize available mapping resources necessary for plotting service-request locations
  • Proactively maintain thorough familiarization with geographical areas served by Life Flight Network
  • Verify accuracy of all FAA documents and maintain records for required period as defined by the FAA

Director of Clinical Operations — Tri-Cities, WA / Dallesport / Lewiston, ID

JOB SUMMARY:   The Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) provides overall clinical leadership for LFN and is responsible for ensuring policies, protocols, service levels, and quality meet and exceed established clinical standards. This includes the creation, innovation, evaluation, development and implementation of structures to achieve clinical excellence. This position will collaborate and facilitate communication and translation of business, regulatory and technology requirements regarding all clinical facets among all departments. The DCO reports to the Chief Clinical Officer and performs Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic duties.  The current DCO opening would be responsible for the LFN bases located in Richland and Kennewick, Washington, and Lewiston, Idaho.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master’s degree in a healthcare or management related field is strongly preferred, Bachelor’s degree required. May substitute direct years of experience in similar position for educational years.
  • Current instructor status in BLS, ACLS, PALS and PHTLS preferred
  • Meets qualifications of Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic and maintains current applicable state RN or EMT-P credentials.
  • Minimum 5 years clinical education management experience in air medical or emergency medical services
  • Knowledge of local, regional, and national healthcare dynamics and regulatory requirements

The Flight Paramedic is responsible for working with the Flight Nurse in the delivery of advanced critical care to patients of Life Flight Network. The Flight Paramedic renders patient care in accordance to the guidelines and protocols of Life Flight Network.

  • Minimum five (5) years experience as an EMT-Paramedic, preferably in a large metropolitan area

The Communications Specialist is responsible for receiving, coordinating and following through to conclusion all requests for assistance involving Life Flight Network by using established protocols and procedures, always keeping in mind the importance of exemplary customer service. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for succinctly and professionally communicating with sending and receiving facilities and their transfer centers (if applicable), Life Flight Network medical staff, 911 centers and other members of the EMS community.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • NAACS certificate required within 1 year from date of hire
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Previous air medical dispatch experience strongly preferred
  • Two years' experience in police, fire or medical emergency dispatch preferred

Ground Nurse — Tri-Cities, WA

Customer Service Manager — Port Angeles, WA / Aurora, OR

The Customer Service Manager is accountable for 24/7 oversight of an assigned base, serving as a leader and providing guidance regarding safety, customer service, team cohesiveness, performance management, and financial accountability for clinicians, pilots, mechanics and administrative employees. The Customer Service Manager is responsible for facilitating communication among staff, management and customers and ensuring employees adhere to Life Flight Network policies and procedures. This position reports to the Regional Director and performs duties applicable to job specialty, including Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic, Ground Paramedic, Pilot, or Mechanic.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, aviation management, business administration or a related field preferred. Will substitute years of experience for years of education
  • 2–3 years managerial experience in EMS or related field preferred
  • Meets minimum qualifications of applicable job specialty
  • Proficient in MS Office

Rotor Wing Check Airman — Aurora, OR

The Check Airman is responsible for conducting FAA required .293. 299 and .297 evaluations and check rides in compliance with Life Flight Network’s Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate. In addition, this position also maintains proficiency in the role of a Rotor Wing Pilot. This position is based out of our headquarters in Aurora.  The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off.

Qualifications
  • Three years of experience as a Part 135 Pilot in Command in the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) industry.
  • 3000 hours of rotor wing experience as Pilot in Command.
  • 2000 hours of turbine engine time.
  • 100 hours of unaided night-time experience
  • 100 hours of Night Vision Goggle (NVG) experience.
  • Minimum 100 hours simulated / actual instrument time required.
  • Current Certified Flight Instructor Certification (CFII) preferred.

The Rotor Wing Pilot is responsible for professionally and safely operating aircraft for Life Flight Network to facilitate care of critically ill and/or injured patients. The Rotor Wing Pilot will possess strong aviation skills, a keen sense of safety, superior customer service skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people, one-on-one and in large groups, sometimes in highly stressful situations.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a professional pilot required
  • Minimum of 2500 hours total time as pilot in command
  • Minimum of 2500 hours R/W time required
  • Minimum 100 hours Simulated / Actual instrument time required
  • Minimum 200 hours of unaided night time required

The EMT is responsible for delivering timely, safe, and compassionate care to patients of Life Flight Network within their scope of practice. The EMT safely operates ground ambulances in accordance with the guidelines and protocols of Life Flight Network.

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experienced as a licensed driver or operator
  • Current licensure and/or certification as listed below:
    • State EMT-Basic or Intermediate / Advanced as appropriate to assigned location

Rotor Wing Assistant Chief Pilot — Missoula, MT / Bozeman, MT / Butte, MT / Rexburg, ID

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Chief Pilot is responsible for ensuring all Life Flight Network (LFN) aviation activities are in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations as well as maintaining Life Flight Networks operations manual and specifications. The Assistant Chief Pilot is the liaison between the Chief Pilot and the line pilots for federal regulation compliance and all aviation technical matters. The Assistant Chief Pilot is responsible for the day to day management, scheduling and training of all pilots assigned in their region. This position will be responsible for our Missoula, Butte, Bozeman Montana and Rexburg Idaho bases.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Meets the requirements of FAR part 119.71 and part 135 to hold the Chief Pilot position on an FAA Air Carrier Certificate
  • Requires one year of management experience in a hospital EMS transport service or equivalent management experience
  • Three years of experience as a part 135 pilot in command at a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) program
  • SPIFR experience strongly preferred

Clinical Education Manager — Tri-Cities, WA

The Clinical Education Manager is accountable for development, implementation and oversight of continuing education for clinical employees ensuring required competencies are adhered to. The Clinical Education Manager is responsible for making sure clinical policies and protocols align with CAMTS standards and applicable state regulations. In addition, this position coordinates in-house education events and maintains proficiency in the role of Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic.

Qualifications
  • Two years of Flight Nurse or Paramedic experience.
  • Current or eligible for professional licensure in Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Washington State.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Paramedicine strongly preferred.
  • Two years of previous pre-hospital clinical education experience preferred.

Qualifications
  • Associates degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred
  • Coding certification with AAPC, AHIMA or NAAC preferred
  • 2-4 years of recent, relevant experience in medical billing, preferably EMS billing
  • Experience working with a computerized billing, preferably with Zoll software

The Multi-engine Turbo-jet Pilot  PIC is responsible for safely operating  jet aircraft to facilitate the transport of critically ill and/or injured patients both domestically and internationally. The Multi-engine Turbo-jet Pilot - PIC will possess strong leadership skills, crew resource management skills, and the ability to communicate with a variety of people, one-on-one and in large groups, sometimes in highly stressful situations.  The Multi-engine Turbo-jet Pilot - PIC will be required to work varied shifts and may be required to be available for on call shifts and overtime shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Parts Manager — Aurora, OR

The Parts Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising the parts department
functions for Life Flight Network in compliance with mandated requirements for parts storage and
control. The Parts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the parts
departments across the company. The job duties include inventory control, physical security,
warranty claims, cores and the shipping and receiving of aircraft articles. In addition, the Parts
Manager will work very closely with the Parts and Purchasing Manager to develop and implement
company wide strategies for the standardization of parts requisition, storage and consumption.
This person must be capable of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and have the
leadership skills to develop and implement new systems across the company. This position works
closely with mechanics, numerous vendors, customers and various levels of management. The
position will be required to drive personal or company vehicles whenever and wherever business
needs necessitate. Some regional travel will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school degree or equivalent required

all purchasing daily activities. Responds to a range of inquiries regarding processes or bid status,
negotiating terms and conditions with vendors and/or service providers. In addition, the Senior Buyer
will work very closely with the Purchasing and Parts manager in the identification and implementation
of key company strategies to maintain and continue to facilitate a centralized purchasing team.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of critical care nursing experience in a level III NICU and/or PICU within the last ten (10) years
  • Previous flight experience preferred.
  • Flight experience can be substituted year for year for the ICU/ED/Trauma requirement.
  • Current licensure and/or certification as listed below:
    • RN license as appropriate to assigned location
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Qualifications
  • Respiratory Therapist licensure as appropriate to assigned location.
  • Three years of critical care RT experience preferably in all patient populations
  • Paramedic certification as appropriate to assigned location.
  • EMT certification in home base state required within 6 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
