EMS Requests

EMS, Fire, and Police can place us on standby, or activate us at no cost. When requesting the helicopter, it is helpful to have the following information to expedite your request:

  • Name of requesting agency and contact person
  • Location of incident with the nearest cross streets and city. We use: deg/min/sec. (GPS coordinates are helpful but not mandatory. Major landmarks near the scene are also helpful.)
  • Landing zone (LZ) information
  • Call back number
  • Radio frequency (and PL tone, if applicable)

Interfacility Requests

You can activate Life Flight Network prior to having an accepting facility. It is helpful to have the following information to expedite your request:

  • Contact person
  • Hospital unit and call back number
  • Receiving facility
  • Nature of call: (medical, trauma, etc.)
  • Estimated patient weight
  • Special needs:
    -OB patient, transvenous pacemaker, invasive lines, pressive support ventilation, Gardner-Wells tongs, Intra Aortic Balloon pump, traction devices, ICP bolts, etc.
  • Patient name, age, intubated or not, drips with pumps
  • Referring MD and Receiving MD
