Request Activation
EMS Requests
EMS, Fire, and Police can place LFN on standby at no cost, or activate LFN by calling LFN's Communication Center at (800) 452-7434. When requesting the helicopter, it is helpful to have the following information to expedite your request:
- Name of requesting agency and contact person
- Location of incident with the nearest cross streets and city. (GPS coordinates are helpful but not mandatory. Major landmarks near the scene are also helpful.)
- Landing zone (LZ) information
- Call back number
- On scene radio frequency and PL tone if applicable
- LZ coordinator unit number
Interfacility Requests
Hospitals can place LFN on standby at no cost, or activate LFN by calling LFN's Communication Center at (800) 452-7434. When requesting the helicopter, it is helpful to have the following information to expedite your request:
- Name of requesting agency and contact person
- Hospital unit and call back number
- Receiving facility and contact number
- Nature of call: (medical, trauma, etc.)
- Patient weight
- Special needs:
-OB patient - flight nurse must talk with sending MD or RN
-Transvenous pacemaker, invasive lines, support ventilation, Gardner-Wells tongs,Intra Aortic Balloon pump, traction devices, ICP bolts, etc. - Patient name, age, intubated or not, drips with pumps
- Referring MD and Receiving MD
